Foundations of classical ballet
Mini Ballet is the next step for our youngest students. It is suitable both for children who have attended Baby Ballet and for beginners.
Classes establish the foundations of classical ballet technique and gradually develop the ability to work with greater focus and consistency. Musical and creative tasks sustain interest and develop expression.
What classes are like
We introduce the first elements of classical barre and centre work, focusing on posture, arm and leg positions and coordination. Lessons include floor exercises for strength and flexibility and short combinations that develop movement memory, musicality and group work.
What we develop
- Correct posture and basic ballet positions.
- Coordination, balance and control.
- Strength and flexibility.
- Musicality, concentration and movement memory.
- Artistry and confidence.
Approach to learning
Children gradually become more independent in preparing for and taking part in class. They learn to listen to explanations, wait for their turn and apply corrections from both teachers.
Trial class
No previous experience is required. During the trial class, the child meets the teachers and the group, and we assess whether the class suits their current level.
